Why we made the Orb.
Last spring I took Pepper up the Cotswold Way for what was meant to be a three-mile loop. Two miles in, it turned into seven. By mile five, Pepper was lapping at a muddy puddle next to a sheep pen. I'd forgotten her bowl. Again.
I'm a product designer. I've walked dogs daily for fifteen years, which means I've also been disappointed by travel water gear for fifteen years. So I drove home that evening and started sketching.
Fourteen prototypes and eighteen months later, the Orb is what I wish I'd had on that trail.

Will it leak in my backpack?
No. The squeeze valve only opens under direct pressure. We tested it sideways, upside-down, and in a backpack over a 48-hour cycle. Bone dry. If yours ever leaks, send it back, we pay shipping.
What size dog is it for?
The Orb works for any dog as an on-the-go top-up. 285ml is a few good drinks — plenty for small and medium dogs on a normal walk, and an easy mid-walk refill for big dogs or long hikes. Think of it as a portable drink, not an all-day reservoir.
How do I clean it?
Both parts are top-rack dishwasher safe. Or unfold the bowl, rinse under hot water, and use the included brush for the inside of the bottle. Once a week is enough. The silicone is food-grade and doesn't hold odor.
Is the silicone safe?
Yes. The silicone is the same grade as baby-bottle nipples, BPA-free and FDA food-contact compliant. The body is 304 food-grade stainless steel. Pepper has been drinking from her test version daily for over a year.
Will my dog actually drink from it?
Most do on walk one. The familiar bowl shape is the trick, dogs already know what to do with it. If yours is the rare exception, you have 30 days to send it back for a full refund. We pay return shipping.
How long does shipping take?
6 to 13 business days to all 50 US states, tracked. Free shipping included. Orders placed before 2pm Eastern ship the next business day.
Is it insulated?
No. We chose weight (180g total) over insulation. The stainless body keeps water cool enough for one to two hours, but it's not a thermos. For a hot hike, freeze it half-full the night before and top up before you head out.
